IEI recently released a new PoE panel PC series, the AFL3-W07A-AL / AFL3-W10A-AL /AFL3-12A-AL/ AFL3-W15A-AL, based on Intel Apollo Lake processor and supporting up to IEEE 802.3bt standard. The AFL3 Series can be installed with an IEEE 802.3bt PoE PD module optionally and can support up to 71 watts for PD.
PoE allows electronic devices to receive both power and data through one Ethernet plug-in. The ability to receive both power and data through one cord means less cabling and less cost, which includes conduit, wire, a back box for the outlet, the labor of an electrician and so on. In addition, PoE injector would only supply electricity while connected to the powered device, so it turns out a secure environment, without line leakage possibility, for the users.
Nowadays, PoE is not only used in industrial factory, but also increasingly used for home automation and hospital room signage, such as electronics control for TV, audio and air conditioner, or the use inside/outside of the ward, showing patient’s situation and visitors’ information. It brings out a smarter, better and more convenient life for the human.
